More about the new job

Things I like about my new job:

1) I have a private office.

2) I have a key card that I have to swipe two or three time to get into my office. Some might consider that tedious, but it makes me feel like I have some security clearance. And that makes me feel like a spy.

3) I get to set my own hours. That's a huge plus coming from a job where I had to work from 9:30pm to midnight on a Sunday night.

4) I get a laptop. Apparently, I'll have to be doing a few things on the go. I'm perfectly happy with that.

5) I've inherited my boss' oldish G5 PowerMac. 1.8 GHz. Not bad at all.

6) I also got his oldish Apple flat panel display. Score!

7) My boss (Nigel) was showing me how to attach locks onto security cages for multimedia projectors. But, he needed a permanent marker to mark where we'd have to cut a length of metal off the lock. I went a grabbed one and figured that I'd be helpful and hand him the marker without a cap. Well, he didn't notice that... So, he grabbed the pen and went to bite off the cap and bite the tip of the marker. Oh man. I wish I had a picture for you. It was hilarious.

That being said, I need to go to work...

Sounds pretty awesome on all counts. I'm happy for you.

By the way, what kind of laptop is it?

Actually, I'm also a little jealous. I already have a college degree and still don't have a private office.

Yeah that sounds better than any job I've ever had.

Um, it's a Gateway. Not uber-cool or anything fancy, but a free laptop none-the-less.

Oh Dad. Surely you jest. I've been busy all day. And it looks like I'll be plenty busy til the beginning of the next semester.

I think you should start dressing and talking like a spy too.

Anything that you can get to help you feel like a spy is way cool. Do you wear a long trench coat to work with the collar turned up? You should.

Dang it, Joe, you need to write more often. Your blog is on my list of blogs I check every day. I refuse to take you off it. So get busy.

Anne. I just put a new post on like 30 minutes ago...

And I'm sorry, last week was ridiculously busy. I'll be more prompt about posting in the future.
