"the best part of waking up is ...."

So, I'm riding my bicycle to work this morning. Nothing unusual, at first.

Anyway, I'm on my bike, minding my own business, when two fine fellows in a truck decide to pace me. I got a little nervous. I have discovered that a car pacing you is much more frightening than a huge truck passing you very quickly.

In any case, the passenger in this truck rolls down his window. This makes me very suspicious. You see, my dad used to be something of a cyclist himself. He had more than a few "accidents" with people who were passing him in motor vehicles and with the motor vehicles themselves.

So, the passenger lifts his arm and I notice something in his hand. It was a bottle. He promptly threw it at my head.

------------------
In a quick aside, these are things you need to understand if you choose to throw anything at my while I'm on my bike:

1. There are air currents alongside your car due to the fact that you are moving.
2. An empty, plastic bottle doesn't fair well in said air currents.
3. In order to hit a moving target with a projectile, it is necessary to "lead" the target.
4. If you throw something at me and don't get away from me very quickly, I reserve the right to hijack your vehicle and murder you with it.
------------------

There. Now you know. These guys apparently didn't understand any of those. As a result, I type this from the county jail as I wait for my roommate to post bail.

At least, that's where I would be if any of this was true.

Well, alright, the truck pacing me was true. Everything else is a product of my lively imagination.

Did you find out why the truck was pacing you? Was it slowing down for a turn up ahead?

Funny, by the way.

No, I couldn't figure out why he was pacing me. I ended up having to break just to get around him.

when you are on a bicycle, never trust a motorcycle, car, truck, or even a pedestrian -- but especially don't trust one that is pacing you. braking is a capital idea as long as you have an escape route
