adventures with laundry

yesterday, after working out with a friend of mine, i came back to my apartment. i trotted to my room and dumped my gloves, iPod, and keys on my bed. as soon as my ears were free of the headphones, i noticed something. there was a sloshing noise coming from the kitchen.

my roommate was in the kitchen so i almost dismissed it entirely. yet, i recognized that there was no sound of running water, just the sloshing.

i decided that i must investigate. i walked out toward the kitchen and noticed that the carpet at the entry of the kitchen was soaked and there was a good 1.5 centimeter layer of water covering the tiled kitchen floor. fantastic.

i turned to ask my roommate what happend and apparently our washing machine had 'sploded. fabulous.

well, the maintence guys from our apartment complex came over and did relatively nothing. they used a shop-vac to clean up the mess and pulled the washing machine out to take a look at it. they really didn't fix anything though.

about that time, i walked down the hall again and stepped in more soaked carpet. apparently, the water was leaking through the wall behind the washing machine and into the carpet on the other side.

i don't really have anything funny to say about this. but if we get charged by those maintence guys, someone's going to hear about it...

I find that if you lay down in the wet carpet and roll around while using a hair dryer, you can enjoy an experience very similiar to the time that you put a hair pin in the electrical socket upstairs.
